How to get to Kaliningrad via Warsaw

Warsaw Train

Warsaw is a great tourist destination. As well as a transit point for travelers who wish to visit Kaliningrad.  Let’s see what transport options are currently available. Planes, buses, trains, connections…

Flights to Kaliningrad from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW)

The fastest, but not cheapest way to travel.  LOT Polish Airlines offer direct flights to Khrabrovo Airport. This flight can save a whole day of your trip. Additional flights are scheduled for the World Cup in June 2018.  Also, there are some non-direct options too.

The second option is buses or coaches

Train to Kaliningrad from Poland

At the moment there is no direct connection with this part of Russia. Some negotiations age going on about restarting a small local train between Gdansk and Kaliningrad. And it’s not clear if it will be available for the World Cup Matches only or become a regular train.

Possible connections to Russia

You can take a train, bus or even a plane to Gdansk and travel from there. Elblag is a possible option, too, could save you a couple of hours.

Also, you can travel to Lithuania and search for trains and buses to Kaliningrad there. That’s a longer route, but Vilnius and Kaunas really worth to visit.
